Kalama Skate Jam Returns June 6 With Community Sponsors

Kalama Skate Jam Is Back

The Kalama Skate Jam is returning on June 6th, bringing together skaters of all levels for a free, community-focused event at Kalama Skatepark.

Hosted in partnership with the County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation and One Love Skate, this event continues to create a space where progression, encouragement, and connection come together.

Pro Skater Beaver Fleming Joins the Event

This year’s Kihei event is elevated with the support of Vertical Sports, who are flying out professional skateboarder Beaver Fleming. His presence brings a unique opportunity for local skaters to experience high-level skateboarding up close and gain inspiration from someone who’s built a career doing what they love.

Powered by Community Support

The Kalama Skate Jam wouldn’t be possible without its sponsors. From local skate shops to organizations invested in youth and community development, each plays a role in making this event accessible and impactful.

Appreciation also goes to Hope Chapel, who supported the previous Keo event by providing food and may be involved in this event too.

Our sponsors reflects the heart behind this event—community showing up for community.

What to Expect

The event will run from 3–6 PM, with registration beginning at 2:45 PM. Skaters can look forward to:

  • Skate lessons (3:00–3:30 PM)

  • Skill-level contests

  • 45-second runs, best trick, and micro contests

  • Food, music, games, and prizes

Helmets are required, and pads are recommended. Limited equipment will be available to borrow.

More Than a Skate Event

Beyond the tricks and contests, Kalama Skate Jam is about creating positive community.

This event continues to grow as a space where skateboarding meets purpose, mentorship, and community connection.

Bring your friends, bring your family, and let’s roll together!

Update May 22: We’re sending our best wishes to pro skater Beaver Fleming, who won’t be able to join us at the event due to a knee injury. We’re wishing him a speedy recovery and are still incredibly excited to see everyone at the event. Come join us for a great time!
