Brody has been on Maui for a month with YWAM Maui! He's growing and serving in amazing ways, and he wants to tell you about a new opportunity.
Brody is fully funded for the lecture phase of YWAM (1st half of his mission), but he needs your help raising the rest of the money to make it to Asia. Please pray for Brody, and consider partnering by donating on HopeShelby.org "Missions." Don't forget to email firstname.lastname@example.org to be sure funds help Brody get to Asia. Please share with anyone who may be interested in partnering with Brody, and feel free to reach out if we can help answer any questions you may have. So stoked last week to have had the privilege of being part of a "Groundbreaking" for the new Upcountry Skatepark.
"Sometimes God gives us glimpses of His favor upon this movement. When 1L moved to NC to focus on solidifying the organization, He had skate ramps waiting for us in a church’s boiler room. When 1L moved back to HI, God divinely orchestrated our being back with the long-awaited groundbreaking for the Upcountry Skatepark. We had been to several meetings back in 2015, and we’re stoked that this park is finally in the works! With our goal to cultivate community, it’s neat that the community we live in is cultivating a skatepark."
- Nicole Marburger, 1L Missionary
April 20, 2015, Upcountry Skate Alliance's Facebook page had put up this picture (embedded below) of Caleb at 4 years old and Joshua helping with the layout of the skatepark.
Stoked that Caleb is now 6 years old, and some of his plans will become concrete soon!
Stoked that because of the new skatepark, we were able to spend time with Mayor Alan Arakawa, Chief of Maui Fire Department, Chief of Maui Police Department, Skateboard Community Leaders, and the Principal of Pukalani Elementary. Thank you skateboarding:)
Live One Love (1 John 4:9),
So thankful for Stevie Lujan and the way he's encouraging us to challenge the narrative! May we see people in North Korea and all around the world through the Most High's eyes.
Let's examine our hearts as we watch this video for the song "Heartbeat."

#OneLoveSkate #LiveOneLove #OneLoveToTheNations
Cheers to you, 1L fam! It has been our joy partnering with you this past year to #LiveOneLove and bring #OneLoveToTheNations!
God had used your prayers and financial support to expand this ministry with a fresh goal of launching life groups at every skatepark in the world!
Because of you, Joshua and I (Nicole) have been able to pour into creating 1L Discipleship curriculums and make progress on our 1L book (stay tuned in 2018 for the finished product!).
We have been able to further equip 1L reps to do weekly discipleship and monthly board giveaways.
We’ve connected with the greater community of faith and have cultivated more relationships and partnerships with local churches, community leaders, and fellow skaters. We’ve seen God bring together people and details for skate events and getting more 1L products. He is so good!
The purpose of all of these things is to connect with people to have conversations of eternal significance and then to disciple and equip them to live the One Love of Jesus wherever they go.
One Love, the only true and soul-saving love, changes lives and communities for eternity.

We are thankful for you, 1L fam! We really appreciate all your prayer and financial support as we continue to #LiveOneLove wherever the Lord leads. This month that included: putting on a skate event specifically for kids at the Paia Youth and Cultural Center, sharing the light that casts out the darkness at a middle school “GLOW Night,” starting #OneLoveLegacy discipleship, doing a board give-away in NC, and testifying of His life-changing work through a faith story blog on oneloveskate.org. Here's our monthly mission Newsletter:
With the big move back to Maui, some were under the impression that the Marburgers were no longer “doing One Love.” To bring some clarity, it is for the One Love of Jesus that we moved back to Maui! God opened a full-time pastoral position for Joshua, but we are still “doing” and living One Love here. It is this very ministry and organization that allows us to live back in Hawaii on the island of Maui. So please keep us in your prayers!

↑ Know the Love. ↓ Be the Love. Nerf darts flew around the stone waves as an army of students worked to capture the flag (a One Love Skate hat) from their friends. Students and staff from Paia Youth and Cultural Center were stoked as Sam Peralta and Joshua Marburger repped the 1L by helping lead a #OneLoveSkate event in Paia last Saturday.
Drone footage from our friend Nilson shows some of the fun as students enjoyed games of "s-k-8," "Simon Says, Skate!," & a "Nerf Blast War." A "One Love Anthem," from rapper Aaron Beasley, played over a speaker as the message of One Love transformed the Saturday morning atmosphere for about 30 skater kids.
"Can we just put aside our indifference? We can do more than separate. There is so much more to existence... all we need is One Love."-Aaron Beasley, One Love Anthem
One Love Skate exists to be a positive presence in the skate community, and we are working to see One Love Reps trained to #LiveOneLove by leading weekly life groups and monthly skateboard giveaways at all 5 skateparks here in Maui, Hawaii.
Whether you skateboard or not, we want to help you rep the 1L using whatever you have been created to enjoy. Leiana Kepa, of the band Leileiana, shares about how she lives the One Love through music as part of our leader training on OneLoveSkate.org.

If you have ever stood on top of a huge ramp or paddled in to a huge wave and chose to “drop in,” you know that transitions can sometimes be fun and sometimes be painful...
Recently, a friend of ours, Joshua Knipple, asked us to write about "Fear And Faith" for his new book. This process was great for us as we continue to work on our #LiveOneLove book. We came up with this Fear & Faith by Joshua and Nicole Marburger.pdf which we are also posting on this blog. Joshua Marburger is a Pastor in Hawaii and Founder of the international discipleship ministry “One Love Skate” 501c3. He and his wife, Nicole, have been enjoying the ride together since meeting at North Greenville University in 2007 where they were first resourced and equipped to be “shoulder to shoulder with soldiers for the Kingdom.” They now have three boys and enjoy serving, speaking, and writing to help many experience the One Love of Jesus (1L). They work hard to provide resources to help as many people as possible #LiveOneLove as a positive presence in their communities through Life Groups and Discipleship.
Joshua & Nicole’s prayer and passion in life is to help resource and equip
disciples (1L Reps) to lead life groups at every skatepark in the world.

Through big transitions, we are continuing to live out the Most High's call "Shoulder-to-shoulder with soldiers for God's Kingdom" to serve as 1L Missionaries everywhere we go, & we can't do it without your prayer support!
Thanks those of you who lift up the Monday 3 each week. We appreciate your prayer support more than you know!
This month we removed the password to make these prayer requests more accessible:

Brody & "Mpact" Talk On Container Last Week
Dub, one of the bikers working security last Wednesday, sent this picture featured on @oneloveskateoutreach instagram of Brody (from Shelby) & Rodney (from Philly) sharin' the 1L of Jesus w/Shelby, NC community.
"Life-change happens in life groups," and we pray that this year we can train 1L Reps w/our "1L Leader Training" at all 5 Maui skateparks to rep the 1L of Jesus & help skaters "live through Him" (1 John 4:9).
- Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming event at Paia skatepark with Sam P!
Yesterday, Waipuna Chapel graciously welcomed our Marburger family! What a blessing to be prayed for in all three services last weekend! Joshua is the new "Associate Pastor of Life Groups & Discipleship," and we will also continue to serve full time as missionaries through "One Love Skate" 501(c)(3).
Let's join with Waipuna Chapel in prayer for housing Upcountry by the end of September. We are praying we can purchase a house close to the church and big enough for our family of 5. We also pray our house will be able to host missionaries and people in our monthly support team who come to visit and join us in ministry.
Thanks those of you who lift up the Monday 3 each week. We appreciate your prayer support more than you know, and we removed the password for this month's prayer requests to make them more accessible: https://www.oneloveskate.org/specificprayerrequests
Joshua & Nicole
Caleb, Paul, & Silas
As Joshua and Nicole (and all of us) transition, we rest knowing: "What is over our heads is under God's feet." As Isaiah 55 explains, God's ways truly are higher than our ways.
Last Sunday was "Experience 1L Day" at Hope Community Church, and Joshua shared that he recently accepted a position as Associate Pastor at Waipuna Chapel back in Maui, Hawaii.
Please pray for grace for the Marburger move:
- Family transition to Maui
- Nicole's new missionary roles with One Love Skate (501c3): Communicating, Connecting, & Creating
- Ministry of Waipuna Chapel - Great relationships with staff, lots of spiritual fruit through life groups / Waipuna's services, plus revival on Maui as Joshua serves as Associate Pastor of Life Groups and Discipleship
- Marburgers continue full-time work with One Love Skate, and Joshua's yearly month of unpaid leave (plus additional vacation time) from Waipuna to pursue 1L ministry opps
- 1L Reps to be Discipled, Resourced, & Equipped at all 5 skateparks in Maui this year as we partner with people, churches, and organizations
Last Sunday, during the services at Hope Community we saw people stand up and commit to share the 1L of Jesus this week.
We also celebrated a profession of faith, three baptisms, and people called to ministry.
About 11 Minutes in to last Sunday's message, Dr. Wilbanks, from North Greenville University, shares about "El Elyon" and mentions the One Love #SeekTheMostHigh Devotional from Hope Community Church.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to One Love Skate to help us continue this important mission in NC, HI, and around the world!
Josh & Nicole here, and we are so thankful to be #ShoulderToShoulder with people repping the 1L all around the world!
From surprise skateboard ramps sitting in storage at our new church building to lives being transformed on the pavement during #OneLoveSkate in NC; recently, we are amazed to see that that #MostHigh has better plans than we do. His calling to be full-time missionaries through One Love Skate 501(c)(3) and "hitch our wagon" to Hope Community Church has proven to be the most effective way to share the One Love of Jesus in this season of our lives.
Week after week we have seen God's favor and hand of provision as He daily provides what we need to do the work He has called us to do! While we continue to serve as One Love Missionaries and cultivate the tool of "One Love Skate" to reach skaters with the One Love of Jesus, we are especially thankful for those of you who join us in our mission through giving your time, prayers, and money to make the ministry of One Love happen!
In the 1L of Jesus (1 John 4:9),
